Price Paid:  $299.00 from best buy

Summary:
Software in this unit is not as good as my old receiver from 1999.

- Guide is not color coded. My old unit would show sports in green, movies in purple.
- No channel lists. You only have one list.
- Hidden channels show back up when Direct TV wants you to see them.
- When you set guide to view by catagory, all channels are included, even ones not in the channel list or that you subscribe to. Once you select a channel, the guide requires you to select catagory again if you want find a different movie.
- On my old unit if you wanted to select a time in the future program you only had to hit select. On this unit you hit enter, left arrow to select timmer from the menu. Too many steps.

Price Paid:  $205.00 from ebay

Summary:
Picture quality is better than I have had with my other 3 HDTV tuners including the one that is in my Mitsubishi.

Strengths:
clear picture
fast tuning of sd pics
nice easy to use menu system

Weaknesses:
no OTA signal strength unless you subscribe to Direct TV then you can get the upgraded software which will allow OTA signal strength. Remote needs buttons arranged in a better configuration and should be back lit.
