Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $99.00 from ebay

Summary:
This is just an awesome machine. It plays every disc I've put into it. JPEGS, MPEGS, AVI, MP3's and DIVX. The picture quality and sound is phenominal. My set up is quite basic. A Sony KV-27FS120 27" FD Wega TV and for sound a pair of Yamaha NS10M and Bose 301 series 1 speaker systems with a Yamaha YST SW10 sub woofer. All powered with Yamaha's RX-797 Natural Sound Stereo Reciever and a Yamaha EQ-630 Natural Sound Graphic Equalizer. Quite simple really but a sound that will blow away many other more expensive surround systems. Although my TV isn't HD, the picture quality produced by the DV C 6760 is remarkably better compared to a Panasonic DMR E50 DVD recorder that I also use with this set up. The black level control is a nice function with the 6760. It really enhances the overall picture quality. Bringing out a noticable enhancement to shadows and whites within the material. CD upsampling and SACD capabilities are also a definate plus. One feature I really like about this player is that it reads CD Text material and also MP3 Texts that read out on the units display and can also be viewed on screen. Display dimmer and night modes, although I don't utilize them are also a couple of neat features incorporated with this unit. It does have a few ticks that were mentioned by the other reviews. From the time I put a disc in it's tray and press play, it takes about 18-20 seconds for the disc to engage into play mode. CD shuffle mode takes abit of time also between tracks and i don't recommend using the upsampling feature while using CD shuffle because the unit will automatically go back to the default 'Upsampling off' once it finishes the 1st track. The remote is abit awkward also but once you get used to using it and get used to navigating thru the menus, it's not that difficult. Overall, it's a very good machine and well built in my opinion. More than worth the 100 bucks I spent for it. One last thing i'd like to add about this player that's really cool is if you decide on purchasing one. Use this code:

With the tray open, enter the code 99990 on the remote and also have the TV monitor on. Once the display code clears on screen, close the tray. Your player is now region free and will play discs from any region ;)

Strengths:
Plays many different formats of discs. Can be programmed to be region free. Excellent picture and sound quality. Loaded with features and durable. Low cost.

Weaknesses:
Takes a little longer for discs to load. Remotes abit awkward at first.

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $200.00 from 6th Avenue Electroni

Summary:
Clean Design. Outstanding 'Natural' sound. Plays any format imaginable.

Strengths:
Outstanding Sound quality and a very nice price point. I opted for the extra warrantee as my last multi-dsk changer, an Onkyo, met with disaster in a freak accident involving my left foot.

Weaknesses:
Seems to stop playing when you open the carousel to add discs.

Similar Products Used:
Onkyo, Denon, Toshiba, Panasonic.

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $200.00 from amazon.com

Summary:
plays all formats i've tried CD, CD-R, DVD and other formats. Many features: including more advanced TV and audio formats than the rest of my system supports. These features may be turned on or off. You'll want to make sure your TV is compatible with this DVD players progressive scan and PAL output.

Strengths:
Plays many disc formats. Sturdy construction.

Weaknesses:
Some advanced features are not compatible with all TVs.

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
