from ebay Summary: So far so good. I have had the DVD-15 for about 7 months now. This is my first DVD player, and I like it a lot. I have owned Nakamichi cassette decks in the past, and have loved Nakamichi ever since. The build quality of this machine is of true Nakamichi fashion. This unit has it's own Dolby Digital decoder, so if you have a cheaper receiver with 6 channel input, you could use the higher quality decoder of this unit. Has optical out, coaxial out, component video out, and s-video out. I hear this machine's retail price is $1200.00, but you can get it cheaper online. Here's some info on my setup: my receiver is a Denon AVR-1802, Cerwin Vega 15" main drivers, DCM front and down firing twin 12" sub's, DCM center, and Infinity surrounds. Sound and picture quality are awesome, sounds like a big theater. I don't think you could go wrong with this unit, you can trust Nakamichi's reputation. It's even made in Japan, too. Strengths: High resolution picture quality. Loads cd's or dvd's fast. Smooth changer operation. Built well and solid. Not a bunch of stupid bells and whistles, just the important stuff. Weaknesses: Many receivers' universal remotes won't control this unit. Movies sometimes pause briefly in the middle, layer change?
The neighbors. Similar Products Used: This is my first dvd player.
