Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $300.00 from Sears

Summary:
As some one who works in the field of multi million dollar home theaters I like the little system. I have a make shift theater room in my apartment I have a 3M projetor which I use and a queen size sheet folded over for a screen. I no its cheazy but hey it works very well for some on a tight budget the SC-HT95 semi small front speaker and center chanel hide behind the black curtin I have a around my screen very well which I like.

Strengths:
strong sound for a apartment, probely not as good for a house with a larger living or make shift theater room like mine if where any bigger but if you have a apartment it is more than a good system for you.

Weaknesses:
mp3 dont like the fact that I can't pick from a menu like my old dvd player.

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $359.00 from BJ's Wholesale

Summary:
I purchased this home theater in a box as a gift for someone that is a casual user so it needed to be simple but still have decent sound. Integrating a DVD/CD player with an A/V receiver seemed to be a good choice. The price can't be beat, $309 after a $50 rebate. Great starter system that can be connected to various sound sources such as a VCR, TV, and external CD changer.

Strengths:
Sound quality appears to be more than adequate for the casual user. The price is less than half the price of my Onkyo receiver (priced right for the casual user).

Weaknesses:
A menu that would list MP3 songs on a CD would be helpful for selection or creating a playlist (ID3 tag support). I had to flip through some of the buttons to figure out purpose and function (not as intuitive) but once you figure that out it is more than adequate.

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $345.00 from Circuit City

Summary:
This Panasonic SC-HT95 unit has very stylish looks and good sound. The front and center speakers are two way so you get better sound than typical full range speakers. The amplifier is powerful and the sub seems to have no problem keeping up. My only complaint is that the quality of the cd/dvd drawer seems to be sub par. The unit makes loud clicking noises as it opens and changes cd's - this makes me question the reliability of the unit. Also not all of my DVD's play on this unit. I will be checking further into the unit specs and troubleshooting though. I purchased this system for $395 from circuit city and also received a $50 mail in rebate, which brought the price to $345 - for this amount of money you can't go wrong. This would be an ideal system for a bedroom.

Strengths:
Big crisp sound from small speakers, lots of sound field choices, stylish looks, low price.

Weaknesses:
Quality cannot compare to a Onkyo or Denon or Yamaha, but then again you get what you pay for.

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
