Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $150.00 from K Mart

Summary:
It was just dumb luck that I purchased this unit. I didn't know what Dolby Prologic was. I never liked stereo, it was underwhelming. This unit provides an excellent simulation of the recorded environment. The FM Receiver section lacks sensativety. The DVD software has an occasional glitch that causes it to hang up and requires restart. It doesn't remember where you stopped so you have to fast forward to that point. I did throw away the speakers that came with it and purchased small bookshelf three way speakers. Huge difference in the sound and special effects of Prologic playback. In TV mode some of the commercials have oustanding special effects that I enjoy listening to. CD playback is solid with no faults. Jpeg photo albums work perfectly on this unit. Highly, recommend considering Oritron.

Strengths:
Highly integrated set of features not found in many much highewr priced units. Sound is wonderful. Video is excellent. If they come out with Dolby Prologic IIX I would buy a new unit.

Weaknesses:
FM Receiver front end lacks sensativety. OK if you live in Urban setting. Some software glitches that once in a while pop-up.

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $149.00 from Best Buy

Summary:
Excellent price/value. Includes Dolby Prologic, Stereo, 3-Stereo, Stadium, Stage, Hall, Disco, Live sound modes. In all modes, tone is crisp and clear. No muddy sound in the low end, and no hissing in the high end. I onlyhave two complaints about the unit. First is the built in AM/FM tuner doesn't pick up very well with the included antenna. The only other issue I've noticed is the speaker wires that come included in the box are too short, and too small guage. I would recommend a slightly larger speaker wire. Other than that, I would highly recommend this unit.

Strengths:
Easy to setup and use.

Weaknesses:
AM/FM Tuner needs work, and speaker wires are too small of a guage and too short.

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

Aune Mini Headphone DAC User Review

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
