Absolutely gorgeous speakers. They look incredible and sound even better. I watched the used sale sighst for almosy a year until a pair went up for sale inmy area and bought them that day. They are really heavy so you want to get them locally. (180 lbs each or so) I saw a a pair recently for sale and they sold in 2 days. Thet don't come up often because they are about as good as you could ask for unless you get the 801s.
They sound as good as what you hook them up to. You can kkep refining what you are using to drive them for a long time before they are the weak link in your system. Then you can go for the D series with the diamond tweeter, just don't listen to themuntil you can afford to buy a apir, stay with these until then!
I have been using a Retel RB-1090 to drive them with biwired cables and recntly switched to a Macintosh MC 2500 and am experiencing how good they sound all over again.
SOmeone came over to listen and said that they were really amazed that they could hear the silence between the notes.
Get them if you can, match them up with good electronics and you will not let them go unless you downsize some day.
