Review 1 of 1

Price Paid:  $99.00 from Best Buy

Summary:
A terrific set of speakers that blow anything else this size away. Great build quality and sound that is unbelievable from a small "wife friendly" attractive design. Sound is good enough to use with much higher priced electronics- needs a sub, but in this size range, these produce unbelievable bass to around 75Hz.

Strengths:
Sweet sound, articulate, imaging, design.

Weaknesses:
Bright sound out of the box, but read the manual which recommends 100 hours break-in. I have NEVER had speakers change so much after break-in!

Similar Products Used:
I tried many times to get something small with good sound, but being a "music snob", the JBLs, Infinitys, Energys, Bose, etc. never sounded good. These do.

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
