Summary:
Just got the unit for Christmas and I never had a VCR/DVD Combo before so I can't compare it to anything!

Strengths:
This is a great idea if you don't have alot of room, eliminates a unit from the stereo rack. Picture and sound is great if you have and optical source on your reciever this is great. Looks great if you have a Sony Wega TV!
I like the on screen menu and the on screen when playing a MP3 Disc.

Weaknesses:
Remote Control has too many buttons and the buttons are too small if you have big hands. Very confusing for my wife and the Kids. When the DVD or VHS tape is being used it is very noisy?

Summary:
its a low end dvd/cd player and vcr. it has some problems now that ive had it two weeks. The dvd player freezes up like a layer pause 10 to 15 time during a movie. it aslo has started to skip on cd playback. Today during my new Unforgiven dvd it started to digitize as well as pause. These combos are not to good ive had three from Toshiba, this Sony and a Go Video. all theree have plenty of problems to sort out. IM taking it back today. im exchanging it for another one in hope that it will be o.k. but in truth I hardly expect it to be.

Strengths:
good picture when it runs, good sound from cd when it doesnt paus and vcr is average.

Weaknesses:
quite a few im finding out.
