Price Paid:  $480.00 from The Good Guys

Summary:
This recorder I believe was the best one out there. The on screen display is clean with clear sleek graphics. Your allowed to label your DVD's with tevo/satelite like on screen grapics.

The metal finsh is smooth and built well. Well worth the $799 price. I actually think what replaced it isn't as nice.

I had my eye on this for two years when I saw it priced at $799 at Magnolia Hi-Fi back in 2002. I realised that it had been dicontinued and replaced with the Sony 160 GB.

However the funny thing was that when I bought my first DVD-RW by TDK they would not load and be read. So I bought Sony Brand DVD-RW and they worked fine. In additiojn all DVD's that I have recorded have worked in every DVD player I have used. Nice bonus Tuner knows and labels TV programs automaticly. So if your watching or recording what ever it is shown on the on screen display

Strengths:
Sleek on screen graphics

Heavy weight and metal

Tuner knows and labels TV programs automaticly

When unplugged clock stays intact

Weaknesses:
slow cd loading

No memory hard drive
