Review 1 of 4

Price Paid:  $160.00 from Best Buy

Summary:
Good player; DVDs (primary use) are crisp and clean; good sound quality and plenty of options for sound modes - the quality I expect from a SONY (received my first SONY Reel-to-Reel when I was 10 years old from my parents).

Strengths:
The obvious ability to load 5 DVDs; playback and sound quality very good; the remote offers sufficient options. Considering the price I've seen this deck go for, excellent strength for the price.

Weaknesses:
Instruction manual takes a little getting used to (I still have not figured out how to make the player move automatically to the next movie after letting the previous one play all the way to the end).

Similar Products Used:
Phillips DVD-825 (not a changer)

Summary:
i replaced my toshiba sd1600 with the sony DVP-NC615. Could not be happier,i was a little worried hearing cd's because in the toshiba it was rather raspy (high pitch). Great picture and sound, i have always loved sony products. The toshiba is in the stoneage compared to this player, what doesen't it play?

Strengths:
speed, nice remote great pic and sound

Weaknesses:
the instruction booklet jumped around quite a bit but soon got the hang of everything

Review 4 of 4

Price Paid:  $300.00 from SonyStore

Summary:
A good allaround player for CD's, DVD's and MP3 disks, especially for its price. No obvious shortcomings so far, exept not having an optical (Toslink) output. Use Digital coaxial for best sound results. Player displays some CD Text and MP3 file/album names and does a very good job with mp3 playback- disk's load fast (under 1 min) and sound good and clean.

Strengths:
Reasonably priced 5 disk player; Twin Laser pickups for CD and DVD; Nice sound and clean picture; Good mp3 playback.

Weaknesses:
No Optical out.

Similar Products Used:
Sharp DVD player
