Review NaN of , from Little ROck

Price Paid:  $179.00 from Best Buy

Summary:
This is actually my 2nd DVD player. I brough this DVD -player for my bed room. So far, I am still satisfied for the sound quality since DVD video is not that important for bed room. (IF I want to watch movie, I would like to use my system in my living room) The sound quality is good. With the same price, I was thinking to get Pinoeer since it offer 192KHz/24bit DAC. However, non of CD or DVD can reproduce such sound in my collection, non of my speakers can respone that much as well, and this unit is DVD vadio player only, it can't play DVD-A or SACD. So basic on those, I run to it for the style since I don't have so many place for it. As the picture quality, I am satisfied too. I never try it with my HDTV, instead of that, it is hooked up to a computer LCD display with built in TV turner and line in source. The picture is cool as well. With the price I paid, I think it is a good buy.

Speakers - Sony SAV-815ED
Receiver - Technics SA-AX7
DSP - Technics SH-AC500D
Display - Samsung Sync Master 150mp

Strengths:
compact design, 10 bit/27MHz Video DAC , Block Noise Reduction, 96KHz/24bit Audio DAC, DTS Digital Output, TV Virtual Surround modes

Weaknesses:
No component Video Out, no coxial digital out

Review NaN of , from North Providence, RI

Price Paid:  $199.00 from Best Buy

Summary:
If you are looking for a Very Cool Looking DVD Player, this is the unit for you. This has got to be the Best Looking DVD Player I have ever seen!!! I have a 32" 2001 Sony XBR Television, and this unit looks FANTASTIC on top of it. It does not have very many features, but who cares about that anyway. I only bought it for the looks. If you are looking for a Progressive Scan DVD, this unit is NOT FOR YOU. But if all you want is a basic DVD player, please don't hesitate, run right out and purchaes one. Please do yourself a favor and purchase a S-Video Cable from Bettercables.com. The picture will be SUPERB!!! I have all Audio Research Stereo Equipment, Pro AC Response 1SC Speakers, and all MIT speaker Cables and Interconnects throughout my Audio System, so I know what I am talking about when it comes to Audio/Video Equipment. If all you want is a Really Cool looking DVD, this is the unit to buy!!!

Strengths:
Looks!!!! Looks!!! Looks!!!

Weaknesses:
Who Cares!!!!

Review NaN of , from Big Bear City, CA

Summary:
Love this little guy, bought it primarily for my girlfriend. I like the small profile, it's easy to keep away from the kids. doesn't have progressive scan but I don't have progressive scan tv anyway. It has all the output's I need for the forseeable future. Unit feels solid and performs perfectly, none of the layer change issues of my last sony unit. Love it

Strengths:
Small Profile, versatile mounting options, cute remote.

Weaknesses:
Never been fond of suck in type mechanisms, prefer tray.
