Review 1 of 4

Price Paid:  $179.00 from Sears

Summary:
Presently on our second after experiencing problems with the first unit. Now having the same problems with the replacement unit. The reader locks up intermittently during a movie and and the sound shuts down. We are returning this second unit and seeking a refund. We do not intend to purchase another Samsung product as quality is very questionable.

Strengths:
Easy to hook up

Weaknesses:
Unreliable and inconsistant performance.

Review 2 of 4

Price Paid:  $149.00 from Best Buy

Summary:
The Samsung V3500 is a very disappointing product. The DVD player will lock up from time to time while watching a movie. The MP3 reader doesn't work and neither does the JPEG reader. I wouldn't recommend this DVD Player and would recommend a full demonstration from the seller in the future. I think Samsung is marketing products with features that have been poorly tested.

Strengths:
Easy setup.

Summary:
If you want to connect the DVD-V3500 up to a HDTV you will be disappointed. The component video output does not work.

Review 4 of 4

Price Paid:  $249.00 from Wal-Mart

Summary:
I like this DVD/VHS player and most of its features, but I think we'll be taking it back for two reasons. The first is that the remote doesn't have a "Jump" button to go back and forth between channels. My husband loves flipping between sports channels on Saturdays and Sundays, so this is a big deal for us. The other problem (and this is the real reason we're returning it) is that every DVD we've watched has been paused by the player without notice. it just kind of holds the picture for a few seconds and then plays again where it left off. I'm not too into electronics, but I know that it should be doing that, just from watching DVDs at a friend's place. I don't know if I got the only one to do it, but I'm not impressed. So, back it goes. P.S. I'm in Canada so the $249 is in Canadian, not U.S. dollars.

Strengths:
Great features on the remote, VHS can record while watching a DVD, which can be paused while watching TV.

Weaknesses:
No "Jump" button on remote to flip between channels and picture pauses without notice on DVD player.

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
