Strengths: Its a 5 disk changer - random play for CD - zoom - priceWeaknesses: erratic drawer behavior on mine.Bottom Line: My old CD changer died and I had a single play DVD so I decided to get one unit to replace them both. The Pioneer 505 has been good to me, plays both formats with no problem, CD-R also. I like the zoom feature and have had no problems other than the drawer wants to close when I am trying to get it open. No biggie just push open again. The sound and picture are good enough for most and its not a lot of money. Getting a Denon DVD-Audio changer soon so the Pioneer will go to the bedroom.

Strengths: SilentWeaknesses: Difficulty with dirty disk, clean the disk it will fix the problem.Bottom Line: I own two DVD Player, both are Pioneer, both are connected throught Component cable.
This model has good picture and sound, it can read mp3 but sometime it stop and turn off playing mp3, it didn't happen much.
A few time I had problem with rented dvd.
The first time I press play, it doesn't recognise the disk and switch to the next one, I try again and it work the second time, so it is not a big deal.
[The price paid is in Canadian dollar]
I am very happy with my Pioneer DVD, I own a DV-414 for 4 years now without any problem so I expect the same with this one.

Strengths: plays everything. decent remote. priceWeaknesses: flimsy tray and so-so electronics if intended for a main systemBottom Line: Plays everything and the remote is pretty arn good for this price range.
I just picked this up for the bedroom so no critical listening but for a brand new unit for 40% off the Wal-Mat prices it should do most folks just wanting a second unit or to get into DVD for those still stuck w/ VHS.
FWIW, Aldi's is owned by the largest maker of computer parts/electronics in Europe and so they have a lot of purchasing power most are unaware of. Soe may think it strange to buy a piece of electronics at a grocery store so that's why I mention this. Afew times a year they offer one helluva computer package toofor nearly half price of what you'd pay at a regular retail store for the same bundle.
One draw pback for some is they only take cash debit cards at any Aldi's store so this keeps the prices down

$79.00

Similar Products Used: many different Pioneer and SOny units over the years. I prefer Pioneer though.

It has a zoom feature that lets you see thing you would not be able to see other wise.It plays all disc's dvd,cd,cdr.cdrw.
