Review NaN of , from Brookline, MA

Summary:
I bought this product refurbished from www.spidergear.com for about $200, and I have had no problems with it. Although I have used this unit very little (because DVD, of course, is replacing the aged LD format), its of excellent quality. It plays both DTS and DD discs without a problem. Picture quality is good, but not as good as DVD. DTS/DD is also very good. While its probably not a good idea to purchase an LD player anymore, I would recommend this unit. The only downside is that it lacks SVHS outputs.

Strengths:
AC-3 RF output, DTS output, Solid construction

Weaknesses:
No SVHS output

Review NaN of , from Waltham, MA, USA

Summary:
I picked this $600 list price laserdisc player (which I believe is still in the Pioneer lineup) for $120 at an electronics flea market, so for me it was certainly a bargain. I've seen it sell for around $425. Build quality seems great, so far not a problem. Works fine with a Yamaha ADP-1 AC-3 RF Demodulator and a Technics SH-AC500D AC-3/DTS decoder. I wish it had freeze frame/slow-mo for CLV discs like higher end players have, but for the price I'm not complaining one bit.

Strengths:
AC-3 and DTS support, two sets of video and audio outputs

Weaknesses:
no digital still frame/slow-mo on CLV discs (a feature found on higher end models)
