I bought this dvd player because i was replacing my cd player and wanted a changer. I have had it about 8 months and have had no problems. I also wanted a dvd player that would play multiple formats. So far, this thing has played anything that was thrown at it. It will play vcd, svcd, mp3, dvd, dvd+r, dvd+rw, cd, cdr, and cdrw. I have not tried jpeg, or dvd-r/rw. I have a high def television, so the progressive scan was a big bonus. I use monster cable for my connections. A toslink cable is used for my audio and component is used for my video. The picture and sound quality is great. Strengths:
Ability to play many digital formats
