This is a terrible DVD player. I have exchanged it 3 times (I wanted to get something else, but they would only let me get the same player) and always the same problem, it gets stuck and will not play my DVDs.

Same problem as previous complaints. Skips and locks up after 25-30 minutes.This unit should not be allowed on market if everbody has problems like this. Where is Ralph Nader ???

Strengths:
Bought with Home theater system.Receiver works fine. 5 disc carousel would be only strngth dvd player has.

Weaknesses:
DVD skips and locks up = waste of money

Summary:
A Large Paperweight.... This thing is probably the best way to waste money. I've had the same experience as everyone else... Plays for an hour or less if you're lucky. I recieved it as a gift. It looks like a quality piece of equipment but do not be fooled!

Strengths:
Plays CDs ok.

Weaknesses:
Doesn't Play DVDs, doesn't shuffle CDs, must manually change CDs/DVDs, Does not support MP3 playback or any of those cool new features available on 50-dollar DVD players...

Just Purchased an RCA DRC220N to replace this thing. It seems to work well... I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Summary:
I too have fallen into the trap. Same problem - works for about 1 hour then freezes, skipps and has a fit. Thought it might be heat related...removed the cover and used an external fan...still failed.

Strengths:
None that comes to mind.

Weaknesses:
The whole thing is a pile of junk.

Replaced it with another different make. Works great all the time. Wouldn't wish this "thing" on an enemy.

Summary:
Same as everybody else... This DVD skips after playing for a while, won't play CDRs, and is painfully slow to do anything. It amazes me that so many people complained about this product to philips and they do nothing to help the next victim.

Strengths:
Remote fits well in my anus.

Weaknesses:
The DVD player does not fit well.
