Review NaN of , from Sunnyvale, CA 94086

Price Paid:  $200.00 from Frys

Summary:
This is a product that should satisfy almost anyone. I bought this DVD player primarily for three reasons. (1)It is small and black and matches my other components (8 1/4 by 17 inches). (2)It has a zoom with according to my count has 17 steps. That is important to me because i like to fit as much picture as i can on the screen and can zoom in with only a bit of the picture cropped on the ends. (3) DVD-Audio. I heard OF high resolution DVD-Audio but had never actually HEARD one. When I saw that you could get a high quality DVD player that could also play DVD-Audio disks I was cautiously optomistic and figured why not. I am by no means an audio expert, but there is no way you can listen to a DVD-Audio disk and not here the awsome superiority of sound that goes beyond anything you will ever here on a CD. You would swear the sound was live! Bass and vocals seemed the most obviously improved to me, but also the ... i hate to use the term...resolution. I only write this because i have learned alot from reading the info others post. I would bet money that if you have a decent surround system with 5.1 analog inputs but your DVD player does not have 6 channel analog outputs you will never regret getting this unit.

Strengths:
The 17(?) step zoom, slow motion 3-speeds foward and backwards, 6 channel analog output and DVD-audio capability for a sound experience that redefine your standards.

Weaknesses:
The instruction manual just does not speak to me...The remote, while having all the necessary buttons is not laid out well, does not glow nor learn nor even look expensive.

Similar Products Used:
It is the 5th DVD player I have perchased, the others simply arent worth mentioning.
