Summary:
I previously owned a DV7600, however it developed an attitude and under Marantz' great 3 year warranty it was replaced with the DV7001. I cannot say enough good things about this player - all of the feature glitches that were part of the 7600 have been fixed which makes operation of different formats much easier.

Although I do watch SD movies, my main use for a player is SACD and DVD-A. On these formats the player performs great and is better than the 7600 for sure. On Redbook CD's the sound is also great - keep in mind upsampling does not fix poorly recorded CD's!

Bang for buck I think you would find this one hard to beat and I cannot see how you would possibly be disappointed.
