For the price of $320.00 I paid, this is a fabulous little unit. The HDMI video output makes for a fantastic crisp picture on an LCD TV. The coax digital audio outuput produces superior sound to the analog outputs. I use this unit to watch many DVD concerts so dynamic audio is important. Very easy set up and operation. Remote works very well. CD audio sound is also quite good for a DVD player. A bit on the bright side but with 24bit/192khz digital audio circuitry, CD sound is pretty good. While this unit is no longer manufactured by Marantz, a preowned unit would be a terrific value for someone looking to play standard DVDs. I will probably be upgrading to a Marantz Blu Ray player later this year as Blu Ray movies and concerts become available in greater numbers now (2009).
