Summary:
I replaced my dv 4200 with the dv4500 because the amplifier was a different color. The DV4500 plays mp3s and S-video cd's much better then the DV4200. Overal quality is more or less teh same. They are both good.

Strengths:
Plays S-video cd with 850MB on it. The DV4200 cant do that. Plays mp3's very well including variable-bit rate mp3's. Actually the first dvd player i got which can play mp3 really well. Better graphical menu then dv-4200 There are better dvd-players, but only at much higher price.

Weaknesses:
none

Similar Products Used:
DV4200 Serveral very cheap dvd-players, which all sound horrible compared to the marantz when used voor analogue cd-playback.
