Price Paid:  $200.00 from E-Bay

Summary:
The Lasonic unit is probably the most compatible units I have ever used. The addition of a Hard drive is a massive bonus, although a bit tricky to get it to work with my PC. Smooth playback on all Divx files & SVCD (Mpeg 2) makes this unit well worth while.

Strengths:
Divx & Xvid are unsurpassed.

Plays single files larger that 2gb via the hard drive (Not possible using normal DVD player or DVD Disks).

Good Dolby Stereo output.

Region Free

Macrovision Free

Reads DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW with ease.

Weaknesses:
Hard drive is quite tricky to get to work with Windows XP. But when it does it's great.

DVD tray is a bit flimsy.
