Bottom Line: I bought this on Ebay as a broken unit. It would not recognize any CDs that were in the unit. Investigation revealed a cold solder joint on the board with disc sensor. After repair, the the unit recognized discs at all 5 positions in the disc tray.
Now for the suprise! I originally connected the unit to my computers multimedia speaker system during repair and test. The clarity was incredible. I then took the unit and conected the coax digital output to my Harman Kardon Signature 2.0z's coax digital input. The sound is very detailed with clarity that revealed sounds I had never heard before on some recordings. There sound was free of any harshness. There was also a huge improvement in the stereo image!
This is in comparison to a Phillips dual laser DVD player that was connected with the digital fiber optical link to the HK Signature 2.0z.

Bottom Line: Bought it for $107 out the door from Ubid.com. It was refurbished, but it comes with a 1 yr warranty from HK still. Great deal, clean sound, works well with my HK receiver. Hook it up to a minidisc with digital out and record from cd to md format. pretty cool.
