$0.00 Summary: Here is an update - they have the AD-7702 in stock for replacement. I sent mine in and was told that they would send out a new AD-7702 in a couple of days. If you have one of the AD-7701's, I recommend getting it replaced if you are experiencing any problem with it.

Price Paid:
$0.00 Summary: Expecting great things from a machine recommended by MAXIM, I've bee very disappointed with the DVD play element. Some movies won't play and some won't play in Widescreen after selecting that option. Some DVDs I have to load then eject several times before they will play. When in pause too long, subtitles pop on. Pixalization occurs regularly. Sometimes menu options don't automatically appear. You have to press MENU for it to pop up. I hope the AD-7702 (replacement) is better and they honor their free exchange promise. Strengths: Remote features. Weaknesses: DVD play is sporadic.

from myriskfree Summary: This product is garbage. SACD's would consistently stop playing. The remote is unintelligible and hard to get to work. The on screen navigation looks like it was programmed by a five year old, and not a particularly savvy one. If this model is any indication of the quality of other Apex units; avoid them at all costs. Not worth the dollars, especially when Sony has units in this price range. Strengths: None Weaknesses: Everything about it

Price Paid:
$399.00
from JandR Summary: I purchased it for an all-in-one unit. I too have had problems with the unit. I have pixelation on many discs, crackling from DVD-Audio, and no disc messages. I go confirmation from both Colton (public relations) and Robert Clark (Customer Service Supervisor) that I will get a replacement new model. They are aware of the problems and it seems to be with a Sony part. They said they are working with Sony to fix it. I will be able to get the new one with a full warranty when it comes out at no charge. So if any of you are having problems with your own AD-7701, contact them and get them to confirm replacement with the new model (don''t just get another, wait for the new model like I am).
