Review 2 of 2 Summary: The unit's quality is average. The user interface is not intuitive and very slow in response. Its video pickup is marginal, it can't play scratched disks.
I bought the unit in December 1999 and used it for a couple of weeks when it started showing problem. The unit has a lot of trouble playing some of the brand new DVD disks, the video image was badly scrambled and the audio popped. Those disks were playing OK on other machines.
The technical service is even worst. My machine has been in the local authorized shop for 2 months, then the regional service center for another month and a half. It's now in AIWA corporate office with no future.
It's been a night mare dealing with the company. Never again, AIWA.
Strengths: Has a lot of inputs and outputs. Weaknesses: Marginal design. User interface is combersom. Technical service is terrible. Similar Products Used: Panasonic.
