Strength:

Inexpensive and very comfortable not to mention sturdy on the used market now.

Weakness:

Little too bright, little slow, so don't use them for anything audiophile and expect audiophile results.

These beat the dickens out of any lightweight inexpensive headphones for mp3's, portable Digital Radio, or the like. Maybe, just maybe... they are a little bright or on that side to compensate for the pure crud sound that an mp3 or Digital Radio reproduces? With being engineered to compensate in mind, the fact that too many people listen to highly distorted reproductions, not being terribly effecient at 32 ohms just what are they being compared too? It's not fair to compare them to top of the line sets or other smaller cheap sets aimed at the MP3 player market. Decent mid-range capability not near the quality of the PX100's which btw, makes Sennheiser a leader with things like the HD 650. Find them cheap, use them cheap, and you won't be disappointed...otherwise try the Sennheiser PX 100's at $50 for that MP3 player?

Strength:

clear vocals strong build bloody comfortable!!

Weakness:

lack of bass prety big

I bought these Sennheisers for computer use. I'm not sure whether they're worth $50, but I'm pleased with their performance. Their mids and highs outweigh the bass, but a little adjustment in the sound card more than compensates. Vocals are very pronounced. The earpads are a little large, but the build looks, and feels quite rigid.

Strength:

brand name, comfort, demo unit sounded well controlled, natural and excellent value for the cost

Weakness:

the new unit I bought sounds thin, poor bass, all highs. Construction is rather flimsy

I got these as a pair of general use headphones, for home and travel, didn't want to spend too much. Listened to various models, including higher rated-higher cost ones ( like the HD470)and other brands, and in the shop the offered the best combination of comfort, natural sound, and low cost. Perhaps the demo unit had been "run in", because the ones I purchased definitely sound thin, and rather average, to the point that I am inclined to agree with the comments of the previous reviewer. I will give these a few days runnning, and will report and upgrade the review if the sound improves, but referenced against a pair of GRADO SR60's, there is no comparison. One star is harsh, but they are not 5 star contenders either.

Strength:

none

Weakness:

crappy overall sound

I used to think that Sennheiser produces quality equipment, but these headphones are just another piece of junk and I will never touch this kind of waste again. The sound is just pure treble and mids and there is simply no bass at all (the package promises something like Ultra-Bass or so). It's not even worth the entry-level price.
