Review NaN of , from Melrose Park, IL, USA

Price Paid:  $25.00

Summary:
I admit to have bought these headphones as a curiosity. These headphones are comfortable for me to wear, and delivers decent sound quality (though the Koss Porta Pro/Sporta Pro/KSC-35/KSC-50/KSC-55 outperforms the MDR-301LP). They have some bass response, some mids, and somewhat harsh treble. And they're more efficient than the cheaper Sony open-air traditional headphones, so I can use them on a newer Walkman player without having to turn up the volume to highly distorting levels.

The self-adjusting headband is convenient, but the one on the MDR-301LP has a flaw: The spring is overly stiff; the headband always wants to return to its smallest position.

Overall, not bad for $20 or $25, but I've heard better for the price.

Strengths:
Better sounding than other cheap Sony headphones

Weaknesses:
Self-adjusting headband doesn't always stay in position
Not as good sounding as comparably priced Koss headphones

Koss Porta Pro, Koss KSC-50
