from Car Stereo Expo Summary: For the money, these are really hard to beat. You can find them for less than $50 everywhere. Fairly good quality made headphones with minor drawbacks. If you want a really open and CLEAN sounding headphones, grab a pair. They will be more than enough for most people. The sound quality sure beats a lot of other brands that are more expensive (Sony, etc). May not be made as heavy duty as more expensive brands but serve the purpose well, especially with some tender loving care (don't pull on cords, sit down on them or slam them against the floor, etc). Only real drawback is the small diameter cord. Fine headphone other than that. People can argue about the sound of more expensive headphones all they want. More expensive doesn't always sound better. May be made better but really just how good can headphones sound??? There isn't that big of a whopping difference to most people; trust me. Why pay as much for your headphones as your receiver? Don't make a whole lot of sense unless you are in a recording studio situation. Strengths: VERY lightweight and comfortable. 40 mm drivers and 12 foot cord. These are unusually open and wide sounding headphones. The highs are very crisp and detailed while the mids are smooth and balanced. Bass is a good comprimise between punchy and tight. Adequate bass for most things you listen to. You CAN get more bass (lots of it) by holding each side down to your ears with your hands. But what headphones don't do that? These things play LOUD and clean for the most part. Quality depends on what you have them hooked to. Play them through a walkman and you will be wanting more and blaming the haeadphones for weak sound. Play them through a quality amp/receiver and you'll more than be happy for most listening. Gold plated plug and adaptor. Weaknesses: Small diameter cord that could be easily damaged or shorted, etc. The auto-adjustable headband is okay and comfortable but I'd rather have standard adjustments. Most headphones are going to this design for some odd reason. Similar Products Used: Sony, Pioneer, Phillips, Advent, Sansui, Panasonic, Sennheiser.
