Summary:
The first experience was a shock - that something like this could be created. I spent half an hour matching the ear type, and then just sat down and enjoyed it. This toy really does sound great. I use it mostly as a pre-amplifier for my headphones (Senn HD-475, but soon 580 or 590)while listening to normal CD's - and it's hard to believe how many albums are recorded with the surround channel encoded, not to mention the impression you get while watching scifi movies like Seaquest or Star Trek - you're always in the middle of the action.
I recommend the Lucas to all fans of greatly presented 3D music; special recommendations - Enigma, (esp. the latest album) or similar works of other artists.
If it wasn't for that damn Club mode reverbation, which, great most of the time, can sometimes ruin the whole presentation, I would surely give it all five stars.

I just bought the Lucas am I'm quite impressed with this toy !!! I mostly use it as a headphone amplifier. Great with my normal CDs and FANTASTIC with my surround CDs like Pulse (Pink Floyd). This thing can really fill your head (and ears) with spectacular effects.
Contains a lot of handy features. Works fine with my Sennheiser HD265 Linear.

I do not agree with thelast entry in this review. The lucas is absolutely great!!! I also have a normal Dolby pro-logic receiver and speakerset (wharfedale + Tannoy + bariton sub) and the lucas is at least as good or better!! You DO need a good source (not the headphone jack from your TV but a split cable from the SCART would be good enough or straight to the audio out from VCR/laserdisc/DVD-player as I did.I couldnt believe my ears, it took me half an hour to customize the settings but after that the bullets where flying trough the room. THIS IS TOTALLY AMAZING!!!! I use the Sennheiser HD 580 and the HD 565 as headphones. Anything less good will probably not do.
Just try Godzilla and you WILL like it....

Summary:
While I have and love the HD580s, thier surround processor is nothing more than a glorified reverb amp. I'm sorry I spent my money on it, they should stick to what they do best, which is making some of the best headphones available today!
