Strength:

Mid-bass, mid-high and treble. Perfect appearance!

Weakness:

Bass is not heavy and focus

I'm reviewing Stirling HE. It's very good with that price. The finish is perfect, suitable for my house's furniture. Not to big, not to heavy to re-arrange. Easy to find the "sweet position". Bass is not focus but large, mid-bass, mid-high are very good for vocal, treble is nothing to say.
If you want to hear the heavy bass, Tannoy Stirling HE is not your choise, with $2,500 you have lot of chance to choose more products.

Strength:

Beautifull, natural and material sound, especialy on human voices.

Weakness:

Hard to find focus point, high-range reduced.

Please apology for my poor english. I am talking about STIRLING TW. Very natural sound with a wonderfull sound scene but focus point is very hard to find. High range are a little bit reduced and you will have to use an amplifier that have a strenght bass-range but for sure this is what we call in France a "melomane" loudspeaker

Strength:

strong midbas, fast, tightness, good mid, adjustable distribution port for bass and Hi freq control(I reviewed Tannoy StirlingTW not HE, it's 93dB/2.83V/1M

Weakness:

sounds too forward, need a carefull placement to get a pinpoint focus, still too expensive for my wallet (almost run out my bank account)

First I saw this little prestige series, ah a good furniture and finish... I like it....
equipment used is:
- Sonic Frontiers SFCD1
- Sonic Frontiers SFL2
- Pass Alleph 3
- Cabling used: Wireworld, Audioquest Clear, Lapis,
I like the sound I heard from my reference CDs, little coloration on mid freq, but overall that's great loudspeaker, comparing with Diapasson, I better like the mid sound and hi freq of Diapasson, but for overal performance..I like the glorious sound of Tannoy..., it's full, lifelike, punchy,, even using Pass Alleph 3 (it's 30watt)....
the adjustable distribution port is very helpful for tuning basses on my room

Strength:

Appearance, tight bass sound, subtleness

Weakness:

High price ;)

I am using this system for only three months now, so this is a preliminary evaluation. Of course, I expect durability.
It is worthy of note firstly that the external appearance is classic and very, very British, in other words, decent. This system is nicely matched to my current audio room, I think, and this factor is fairly important for this sort of high-priced instruments, I think.
The harmony, even when the symphony orchestra is performing in fortissimo, is tight, not dull, with accurate separation of each part. When I am listening to Beethoven's string quartet, the sound is so natural and vivid that I suppose if the cabinet is vibrating just as a part of the string instruments.
I am actually an analog lover, i.e., Teac reel-to-reel deck fan, and overall integration is satisfactory, indeed.
