This is as close to the perfect speaker as I've ever encountered. To say I was blown away would be an understatement. I paid $900 for the pair in near mint condition. The original retail on these in Canada was $2499! Even then it's a steal This speaker has the same dual ring tweeter as on the $30 000 SF! This speaker feels high quality too. Hand built in Denmark with hand built and soldered cross overs. The Danish audio obsession shines on in this Jamo. If you can find a pair BUY THEM! These are not like the new crap Jamo. This is the real deal Danish Jamo from years ago. A true undervalued gem.

First off, the List price noted is over $1000 less than what they retailed for, which IIRC was $1795 USD.

This is a marvelous sounding pair of floorstanders. 2.5 way-tweeter, mid-woofer and woofer, with the woofer separated from the other two drivers within the cabinet...both woofer drivers are a mixed-pulp design for strength and musicality....ports for both the mid-woofer and woofer drivers.

I tried a number of more expensive speakers before settling on this speaker and it is just plain musical...great attack and decay, mid's aren't in the same league as a single-driver speaker but are very good and the bottom end completes the package...no need for a sub with this combination.

The soundstage is wide, deep and high....suggest placing on the widest wall in the room, with room in back for the ports and off the side wall at least 1-2 feet....a very slight toe-in. I listen to mostly Jazz these days and it is a great accompanying speaker for it and chamber music as well. I would think it plays well with type of music, but I don't head bang much anymore, and classical just isn't my bag.

I use both a tube amp w/35 watts per side, KT66's, and on occasion a Class A solid state amp w/20 watts per side, so a big benefit of the speaker is it's 89db efficiency.

Strength:

SOUND!! Full range.

Weakness:

?

A wonderful full range floor stander...off set tweeters...ports for the bass and midrange that isn't 'boomy'.
