Strength:

Adding to the previous review (sweettommy): After several weeks of listening and making adjustments, I’ve concluded that these speakers are really high quality and underrated. (If you can believe it, I demoted my B&W 602 S3 on Atacama stands in favor of the Eosones.) The sound really broke in (normally don't need to for used speaker, but probably because the previous owner told me he stopped listening to them and stored them)... it tends to be natural and laid back but became more revealing, while the tweeter settled down sounded leas bright. The best positioning for my 15’ x 20’ room and my ears is a foot from each wall and 12’ apart and toed in 15 deg. The rear firing tweeter, woofer, and bass port really shine there. The bass extension this way is superb off the walls and firing forward. (Whereas my B&W were only front firing 2-ways though still excellent) Adding a good sub (Infinity SW12 and/or REL q150e) adds low end punch pressurized the room. The RSF400 8" bass woofer is really excellent but drops off at 38 Hz (-3 dB), which is about where I set the sub crossover.

Weakness:

None with a REL sub and setup properly with matched quality amp (NAD C350 integrated preamp, Roksan Caspian Ml1 as power), quality source (Yamaha CDR-HT1000), and quality cables (Straightwire Chorus).

Strength:

In the $500-800 retail range, outstanding value, especially as pristine used examples are available for $100 (original msrp was $800). Audiophile quality. Directly compared to $650 B&W 602 s3 (single amped) and held its own with flaws below. Neutral and laid back but very musical. Don’t usually find rear firing ports (for staging presumably) at this price point for tower floor speakers.

Weakness:

—Care with setup: position (12 in) away from back wall because rear firing ports, I found sound better without grill, slight toe in —care with matching amp or else tweeted but bright and twangy: my nAD c350 matches well but roksan caspian did not —as others said, very heavy speaker —less dynamic, imaging could be better, bass less tight/punchy than the very best —not biamped. Doesn’t take banana plugs

Strength:

Audiophile quality. More full sound than Definitive Studio Monitors by far. Eosone sound resonates very well.

Weakness:

Heavy to move or carry.

Great speakers for high quality listening. Very clear and full range of sound. Difficult to find since they aren't made anymore. Very attractive, tall floor-standing speakers.

Strength:

Excellent clarity, while producing a hard punch in the mid bass, these added the mid where there was none.

Weakness:

These won't fill your bass desires alone, and they can become overly bright with wrong settings, but then so can all others.

I'm using these as rear surround in my all Eosone speaker system,I have the RSF 1000's up front, the RSC center, and a Titanic MKIII sub, these are a match made in heaven.these speakers are made of MDF which as you know is one of the best non resonating sound deadener you can use.I couldn't have bought a better surround spaeker IMO.

Customer Service

Polk has not offered any answers to email concerning these, and as you know Eosone is no longer.
