What can I say other than what a great speaker, it has plenty of evertything that you would be looking for in a mid sized floorstander, tight bass, brilliant mids and clean highs.
They took a few hours to set up properly, but it was worth the time to do so. They handle all types of music from piano sonatas, violin concertos , acoustic guitar through to full symphony and rock without putting a note out of place.
If you can find some of the recently superceded models at a good price, get them, they are that good....

Just want to say I have owned may high-end speakers e.g. Ruark, Linn, Totem and I would put Elac right up there with the best of them. Incredible highs, great extension in the upper frequencies...they have a slightly metallic presentation but that is the nature of the speaker. Would recommend pairing with European gear and polite cables. I use Purist audio design and they work great. cardas would be good too. I would not hook these up to Bryston or Krell the dynamics would be just too much. These are engaging and forward speakers so pair carefully. Oh, these can really fill up a room with sound by the way. One last thing....they seem to like a lot of current so have plenty of power on hand. IMOP. I use a Thule Integrated and its fine. You could use an Arcam, Roksan, Primare or Atoll. any of those would be fine. One thing is for sure, these are not a laid-back, mellow listen. Be Prepared!

I auditioned these being powered by a Cambridge Audio pre and amp combo, it was a beautiful sound with a wide soundstage and clear top and bottom ends. Highly recommended.
