Strength:

Picture quality when viewing widescreen DVD movies is simply breathtaking. Detachable speakers are definitely a plus if you use your stereo system for audio output, as this makes the unit quite compact (29 1/2" wide X 23" high on the pedastal). Complete set of inputs, with the exception of HDMI (see weaknesses), including 2 RF in, 2 component, 2 AV, DVI, and RGB in AND out. Outstanding when used as a computer monitor, though the large screen-size requires sitting a bit further back than the foot or so most of us use when at the keyboard. Ideal for use with wireless keyboard/mouse from your favorite armchair. Remote is quite easy to use and well laid out.

Weakness:

No HDMI input. Picture with analog cable is disappointing. (A set-top box to receive OTA HD broadcasts will be my next purchase.) Not suitable for viewing from oblique angles; a problem shared by all lcd screens.

The most "bang-for-the-buck" available in a widescreen flat panel, in my opinion; this unit was about 50% cheaper than most of the 26" lcds out there. The dual-purpose versatility (TV or computer monitor) was what really sold me.

Similar Products Used:

Samsung HD television (27" 4:3), smaller lcd computer monitors.
