Strength:

great gadgets, nicely build, perfect picture quality and above all a real
96khz dgital pcm output !!!

Weakness:

the black versions remote is difficult to read, uh...... thats it !

am i the first one from the dutch mountains ??
this product is in holand and gerrmany one of the best sold dvd
player. the first reason you can read above ( strenght )
the second is for sure the analog sonic results not only by playing
movies via dgital connect to dd anddts decoding.
used as a cd player (with the mit mi330 series 2 interlink) the dv 717
sounds 'wam' even very musical and involving.
there is no lack of detail or so called brightness wich most dvd and
cd players can do in a progressive way !
i like the holografic 'sondscapes' with ambient music wich i thougt
only the marantz cd 16 exclusive can reproduce. wrong !
when you like your music lush and open without "digitalniss" here is
your player.
amp: marantz sr 14 (18 in usa ) speakers : infinity kappa 8.2
cables ; mit terminator ser. 2 mh750 biwire and mi 330 interconnect

Strength:

Picture Quality, Sound Quality, Build Quality (except remote).

Weakness:

Remote Control is too big! Slight delay when changing layers (not too much of a problem though).

Good product, paid £300 for this player. May be an older model, but the sound is as good on audio as my Sony CD Player. Haven't noticed any lip sync problems yet, as in other reviews of the Pioneer DV-717. I would recommend this player to anyone who wants a good quality DVD but doesn't want to pay too much for it!
