Strength:

After tweaks: good soundstage, bass and midrange. Picture is very good.

Weakness:

Sound is not as detailed as the Jolida JCD100 which I had at home for a few days.

I bought the DV-355 to replace an ageing Rotel RCD965 CD player. I did not expect much from such a cheap DVD Player sonically, but was quite impressed after all. However I felt that the DVD could be improved upon. I tweaked it by adding a couple of ferrite rings to the mains cable and placed it on some Welborne Labs Sorbothane feet. After the tweaks the sound was much better. Bass and treble improved and the sound was much less grainy. I now prefer the sound of the DV-355 to that of the Rotel.
