Strength:

ease of use; decent picture quality; onboard decoder

Weakness:

very picky/touchy as far as DVD/CD condition/quality

I've used the Panasonic RV-41 DVD player for over a year now, and up 'till recently, i was pretty satified with the picture quality and ease of use. Lately, the darn thing keeps freezing up for no apparent reason. It will play through a movie once or twice, then it goes on a freezing frenzy, where no matter what you put into it, it goes bananas. That will last for a day or so, then everything goes back to normal. If you can live with it, or if someone has one that doesn't go nuts every oher week, it's a decent player

I sent An e-mail to Panasonic Canada, Their reply (1/8/2002) was that the Panasonic RV-41 is the same as the RV-31 except it has a built in sound decoder. The picture quality is the same.
