rating  3 of 5
MSRP  750.00
Description: If you've been borrowing CD's from friends but haven't wanted the hassle of recording them, check this: the Elite PDR-W37 is both a 3-disc CD changer and recorder, and gives you the convenience of using only one machine to record a CD onto a CD-R or CD-RW. Throw a CD into the changer and a blank CD-R or RW into the Record tray, hit digital synchro and you'll have a flawless recording- with superb audio quality due to the PDR-W37's Legato Link conversion and 44.1kHz sampling frequency. You can also enter CD text or control playback by connecting a keyboard. The Elite two-year warranty applies.

Price Paid:  $450.00 from East Hamilton Radio

Summary:
Like the other Pioneer recorders that employ the 3 disk player tray, it malfunctioned within the first couple of months (and I hardly use the 3 disk tray). It took 2 months for Pioneer to return the unit to me so that was very disappointing. However, my principal use for this machine is in my recording studio to make final mastered copies of my recordings after running the tracks through various devices and analog outputs. The record tray has always worked perfectly and resultant sound quality has always been flawless. The synchro record feature is very convenient.

Strengths:
Sound quality.

Weaknesses:
Cheap construction of the 3 disk player.
