from Circuit City Summary: Meant as part of an audio system, this is one of the first AUDIO CD burners, vs one using a PC. Very clean specs, I use it constantly to burn for friends and for family archiving. Fixed in the later models, this 1st generation can be tricked into burning onto blank CDROMS: you let the player read the blank udio disc, then manually open the drawer and replace the disc with a CDROM blank to record. The Audio-only discs are so cheap now that this isn't necessary though.....Solid. Strengths: Simple operation, very clean sound, pure digital transfers. Weaknesses: Edit mistakes can't be bypassed as on later models. Confusing remote.
