Summary:
The Voyager is an improved Data III that also plays DVDs. I use this unit primarily for home-theater use and have been very pleased with the picture and sound quality I have been getting from DVDs and laserdiscs. I feel that the Voyager has a cleaner, less grainy picture when reproducing laserdiscs than the Data III and a more three-dimensional look on DVDs than the Panasonic DVD player I owned before I got the Voyager. Sound quality from CDs is also good provided you don't compare it to a transport like the Spectral SDR-3000 which is without peer in my opinion. However, the SDR-3000 does not play DVDs or laserdiscs and is currently not compatible with 48 and 96 KHz recordings. That is a strength the Voyager has as it is compatible with the current crop of audio and video DVDs (though not SACD). However, the Voyager is a strong performer and has provided me with a great deal of pleasure.

Strengths:
Picture and sound quality, aesthetics.

Weaknesses:
Cheap looking and feeling remote. A far cry from the machined remotes from other companies. For some, the size will be a drawback.

Similar Products Used:
Theta Data III, Spectral SDR-3000.

Marantz MA-9S2 Reference Series Power Amplifiers Review

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

A new driver from Lowther is real news. A new five inch driver is even rarer news, so it was with great anticipation that I waited on this pair of speakers to arrive.

Aune Mini Headphone DAC User Review

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
