from Ebay Summary: I have been very pleased with this machine. The sound is superb. Reviewers (I always think magazines are questionable) often say that Technics CD Players are harsh. Not at all, the depth and richness is astounding. The detail is excellent and ‘harsh’ music (such as the ‘trumpet on Nils Petter Molver ‘Kmer’) is not grating or gritty. It can really find the bass detail too, quite exciting given the right music.
With a good warm up ( yes I do believe kit needs to warm up) a decent amp and speakers you would be pushed to find a better sound. The build quality is excellent the drawer mechanism is smooth, you can’t hear the CD motor during it’s operation. All switches are electronic and slick. The access time is quick. Less than 1 sec between tracks 1 – 10.
I sampled it by comparing it with my Denon 695 and honestly could not tell much difference once someone else did the switching. Maybe the Denon was a little brighter.
It has lots of ( now redundant) features for recording to tape. On the whole a very well built machine.
The specs indicate that it is 4 x DAC though my model clearly says MASH on the front.
Strengths: Build quality , fast access time, Sound... Weaknesses: None so far, maybe it's a bit big but that is not a problem. Similar Products Used: Various Technics CD's Denon CD's
