Summary: Overall very pleased with this. Like I said it is my first cd player aside from portables. Anyhow, it is great except the fact that you cant turn it off with the remote. Ohh well, I still love it and it has given me no grief.
Summary: all in all its great for $150 i was very impressed but the f@cking peice of $hit wont turn off with the remote!
other than that its great but i am wondering what the diffrence is between dacs like for example wich is better a 1 bit or 16 bit or hybrid pulse....?
if you know what im asking you can e mail me at user_name@mail.com i used a fake one on here i dont know why but hell the ladie didnt know why she swallowed the fly!
Strengths: clear sound.lot of features, and nice looks
Weaknesses: cant turn the power off with the remote, all my cd's are played out so i dont use it anymore

from One hell of a boring stereo shop
Summary: Wow ! i don't even know if after 5 hours of use i should write an opinion about this great machine.. well.. i guess i should, mainley because i really enjoyed the features & the crystal clear sound, comparing offcourse to cheap players (DISCMAN's). I own about 1,200+- Cd's, so i thought i should buy a decent Cd changer + a great components stereo, & so i did ! This little baby is attached to the following :
Nakamichi AVR-7 (100 RMS x 2) Pure Acoustics JH-300S (130 RMS) X 4 speakers ADC SW-1000 Sub (100 RMS)
As you can surley understood i haven't used this Sony for more the a few hours, but as far as i can see we gonna have the time of our lives livin` together !
My only real complain is the price, here in Israel electric stuff is quite expansive & when i saw how much US$ people here payed for this black monster i felt like a real sucker. N/M about it ! if you read this & you already bought this awesome changer - i can tell you only 1 thing: With the right equipment around it will probably destroy some of your major relations with some "sensitive to metal music" neighbours..
Summary: I guess it happens, but when it happens to you it really bites. In the same day I received my str v444es receiver, I also received a cdp ce335. To my surprise when plugged in and turned on, a minute after it comes on I get an error message. I generally by a lot of sony product, but this will be my last except for their televisions. The only sony product that I have bought of late that is a winner is their xbr 36 400. Everything else I have bought from them of late has been crap. The receiver that I bought to replace an older ES receiver is not very good and a vaio laptop that I spent 3900.00 is worthless because its six months out of warranty (they want 1500.00 to fix the power supply and I can buy a brand new one now for a few hundred more). Maybe I am just unlucky as of late, but the way sony product has been of late for me will not allow me to buy anything sony again other than a tv.
Strengths: none so far
Weaknesses: arrived new in box from sony "DOA"
Similar Products Used: sony dvd, cd, receiver...

Summary: I have the CDP-CE345 in my office system using the digital out to an external DAC. This player has been playing for 9 months non-stop, 8 hours a day, constantly changing CDs in and out and has never given me a single problem. Granted, it's not an audiophile grade player but if you are using a digital out it's a great workhorse transport. And at <$150, fuggedaboutit.
Strengths: Durability,price
Weaknesses: Noisy tray
