Price Paid:  $176.00 from Buy.com

Summary:
I needed a CD player because my old Denon died, and I was not satisfied with the CD playing quality of my Sony DVD player. After much searching on the internet, I found the Sherwood CD-7080R. When I first listened to it, I noticed a big improvment in the bass over the DVD player. But what has really blown me away is the detail. Forget all of that audio talk. Drums sound like drums, I can hear the bow being pulled across the strings on the cello in "Elenor Rigby", and I can hear things on CD's that I have never heard on my Hafler / Boston Acoustics systen that I have had for a long time. My stereo has never sounded this good. The Sherwood also has many features that I haven't even checked out yet. I am still too blown away by the sound to care.

Strengths:
At $176 this is a steal. Strengths? The detail/resolution.

Weaknesses:
None!

Nothing I know of compares.
