Review 1 of 12
Price Paid:
$190.00 Summary: Mine is the gold one. I bought it second hand. I looks cool. Very detailed, uncolored, true, neutral and smooth sound. Everything you could want from a cd player. It can read CDR's as well. I paired it with an Onkyo Tx-8211 stereo receiver and Klipsch SF-1 towers. I think I did an impressive job with this combination. I am very happy with the sound I got. No domination of any freq. Everything comes well defined with a very good power reserve of which I have never able to used more than half. Strengths: True, neutral, clean sound, able to read CDR's. Weaknesses: None yet. Similar Products Used: None.

Review 2 of 12
Price Paid:
$50.00
from used equipment store Summary: What can i say :).
dx-7111 is the best element in my system.
i'm using it with yamaha r-3 receiver and harman/kardon td212. speakers are diy.
Earlier i had sony cdp-591 but died after
2 years of using it. sony's sound was rather "plastic" in compare to onkyo's sound.
7111's the sound is really clear and oryginall Strengths: only advantages Weaknesses: can't see any Similar Products Used: sony cdp-591 (my mistake)

Review 3 of 12
Price Paid:
$270.00
from onkyo showroom Summary: after using this player for over a yera and half now it is the best player in its price it makes the music come alive and reproduces all the notes with precision and is almost on the league of the above except for some dynamic impact and a very slight amount of detail wich is visible only on very high resolution pre mastering systems.
if you can find it grab it now or even the dx-7111 which has the same sound cant comment on the later models as i have not heard them but i feel they will have the same sound if not better .
Strengths: all that you can name Weaknesses: none Similar Products Used: old sanyo cdp ,sonic solutions HDSP pro workstation,LUcid 24/96 d/a converter ,sony cdp 500 pro cd player, onkyo cd changers

Review 4 of 12 Summary: This player sounds surprisingly sophisticated taking into account the price! We're talking of crisp, detailed highs, natural midband, well defined bass. The bass does not have brute power, but more importantly, it reaches the lowest notes with superb definition - this is especially audible in classical music and acoustic jazz. Highly recommended. Strengths: Natural sound, built quality, looks Weaknesses: none at this price
