Review 1 of 1 Summary: This CD-Player was made around 1990. A lot of features : remote control, time counter, headphone output, variable volume, bypassed output, etc. It is a component of the wonderful "Monitor Serie" from NAD. Very nice look. Mechanically a little bit "light", but the only troubles I had for 10 years were fixed by cleaning the laser lense. It uses only one DAC 16 Bits. But the phase between the 2 channels is perfectly corrected, and the DAC was carefully selected to guarantee an excellent linearity at low level. The sound is amazingly good, and still competitive today. Very neutral, detailed but not agressive. Compared to a CAL Icon II, the NAD is better in the medium range, but the soundstage is inferior.
Strengths: Features, Sound Weaknesses: No digital output Similar Products Used: Philips, Marantz, CAL
