CD's skip frequently, Cd's Jam, Poor Remote (All buttons same size), Slow, Loud

Don't waste your money on this one. I can't think of one good thing to say about it. I've put up with it for over a year and finally gave up on it. My Cd's skipped frequently, even brand new ones. Discs jammed and a few of them actually cracked because of this jamming. The remote was very difficult to use when enetering CD titles. Very poor construction, cheap and loud,

I bought this Kenwood to replace a disfunctional JVC 200-disc changer. before buying the JVC, i heard many complants about the anemic random play function, which i thought i could live with. when i took it out of the box and plugged it in, i discovered that the disc door didn't open! so, i sent it back to the catalog i ordered it from to exchange for an equally priced Kenwood, the CD-224M. i got it used through Crutchfield for $219.95, which i found a bargain. Anyway, i've had about two weeks with this changer and have found no flaws with the machine. the sound is great through my great new Cambridge SoundWorks speakers. you can even exchange all the discs while one is playing! my only complaints follow: it takes about 10-15 sec. between songs on different CD's, depending on where the CD is. it doesn't have a digital output for Minidisc, etc. which i hope to soon own. Also, the catalog description says, and i quote from their page 109, "And you can keep your tunes flowing non-stop; just exchange discs while the music is playing." i interpret this as it being able to IMMEDIATELY begin playing another song from another CD as soon as the one playing finishes. but, as i said, there is a 10-15 sec. wait between CD's.
It's a good CD changer, buti'm going to sell mine for their CD-2280M, which has 2 independent CD transports!! this gives me the feature that i want: one disc fades in while the other fades out. a good CD-player though. 4 stars.

I had this unit for one day and exchanged it for the JVC XLMC332. The reason I returned it was due to the lack of disc/artist display capabilities. For example, after loading all 200 disks (assuming you have no CD texts)and typing in all the disc information, one cannot see what's playing through the unit's display unless you stop play or commence a disc search. The only thing that displays during normal playback is the disc/track time count; I have better display capabilites on my car's CD changer. Anyway, while the sound was excellent, I was insistent on this one feature. So far, the JVC is working out fine, though I have not used the random feature, which is not a big deal to me.

I give this Mega CD-Changer 4 speakers because, although the sound is excellent, the remote is well thought out, the price is right and it has just the right amount of extras, it takes quite a while (for my tastes anyway) to change from one disc to the other and it is very noisy while doing so... The fact that it doesn't display title and song information about the CD being played during playback is really trivial since i know my CD's by heart and in the order i have em in I dont need for the text to be displayed... Rock On Kenwood!

I purchased this CD player and was immediately satisfied with the sound quality, functions of the remote, etc. However, I was disappointed with the time it takes to change disks and the lack of display for the title of the CD which is being played. But for the price, it's still a hell of a deal!

Actually this is for the CD-324M, maybe the same thing maybe not. I am very pleased, so far, the transport does make a great deal of noise and it doesn't show the CD title while it plays but I just need to see the title to find the CD, once it is playing I know which one it is. Jog dial is way too small, but the remote is very useful, so I never have to touch the unit itself. I may use the digital out put if I get a Mini Disc. The seek time during random play is also kinda long but no longer than reloading a single cd player by hand. All in All, I like the device and it will work until the technology improves and they make a DVD Jukebox for $200, which is alittle more than what I paid for this one.
