Summary:
I have this unit for a while now and been relatively please with it. Picture wise it only gives ground very slightly to the Sony DVP-S7000 which means it about average of what's out there. Where this unit excel at is audio. It boast the K2 interface to reduce jitters and 20-bit/96kHz PCM. So this unit can be use both as stand alone unit or transport for CD. It's absolutely kill most DVD and CD players out there in the audio department. The only negative thing about this unit is that it does not have a coaxial digital out (only optical) - Newer 2000BK model have the coaxial. Also maybe DTS output, but I have yet to see any software for it anywhere so not missing it much. Anyway, if you like your DVD player to dub also as CD player, it's hard to beat this JVC.

Magnepan Magneplanar MG 1.6 User Review

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
