a Casual ListenerDate Reviewed: October 1, 2003
Bottom Line: For recording, I don't use the inputs, so I can't judge that. I only record from play (left) tray. I've recorded at nl, @x, & 4X speeds w/out any problems. I've used multiple brands of audio CDRs w/out any problems (have never used CDRWs, so can't comment on that either). Got ext warranty due to problems w/2 Philips recorders I had previously, but this has given me no problems. I listen via the provided coax digital output to my receiver, or via headphones, & sound is fine either way from either tray, whether from prerecorded or burned discs. However, it is a noisy machine--not noise from the discs, but the machine itself. It cannot function as a true 2-disc changer, altho you can program it to play one disc, then the other. The remote has just enough stuff to be helpful & not so much that it's cluttered. The machine's front display is easy to read.
