Summary:
I made the mistake of going cheap on a multi-disc player. My wife says she won't even play CD's on it anymore, because of all the skipping. Once I get past the skipping, which is on the first several tracks, there's no problem. However, the random mode is loud and slow.

Strengths:
Inexpensive. Has those nice Denon lines. Very clunky when playing in the full random mode.

Weaknesses:
This machine constantly mistracks the first several cuts on a CD. Drives me nuts. Thought that all CD players would at least play the music adequately enough. Not this one. Would prefer to be able to program with a keypad on the player, rather than the small pad on the remote.

Summary:
Well I bought this changer at bjorn's in San Antonio where I a/b'd it against two yamaha changers and another changer in the denon line (the 370). Sonically I found them all to be practically identical, however I like the look of the denon better. I also feel the denon has a better user interface and it's nice that it can play a cd while you put a new one in the changer. I chose the 270 over the 370 mainly because it was cheaper; otherwise it's the same as the 370 except for the lack of optical outputs and hdcd decoding. Since both units sounded exactly the same to me I chose the one that was $100 cheaper and haven't had any regrets. Right now I only use this player with my beyerdynamic DT-250 80ohm headphones and the sound is as good as you could expect from any cd player in existence IMO. Excellent product.......

Anyone looking for a good CD player that's does exactly what it's supposed to do (Play CD's back as they were recoded and sound good with headphones), look into this chagner.

Maybe you should look elsewhere if you actually believe you'll get better sound by paying $600 more for a single disc player.

Strengths:
Changes CD's fast, Can change CD's while another one is playing, output is clean, clear and transparent. Display is nice, bright, has clearly defined, and is funtional. Remote Included. Headphone output sounds nice.

Weaknesses:
No optical outputs, not that I would ever bother with amps that use them anyway. Cannot change headphone volume without remote.

Summary:
The Denon DCM-270 is a decent sounding player that I picked up at U-bid for $110 plus shipping. It has decent sound and makes a great second system cd-player. I used it as my main system player until I could afford a better one. If you can afford it I would recomend going with a better player ie one with digital output etc.

I have never had any mechanical problems with it as another reviewer stated.

Summary:
For me, a changer is a necessity. Just for parties or house cleaning- I don't want to spend time changing disks every time one ends. If you are in a similar position this is a very nice changer. It's changer mechanism seems a bit clunky, but aren't they all? Seriously for a second system or a second source or even a first modest system this changer has a very nice sound. Technology has progressed over the years and if you wish to have a decent changer DENON makes some nice sounding machines. If it will be your sole source I would recommend moving up the line to the DCM-370 which includes a digital out and HDCD decoding. For simple background music this is a fine player.

Strengths:
nice sounding changer- definitely not top drawer sound, but as an alternative source for hours of background music it's adequate.

Weaknesses:
Again this will never compete with a quality single disk player. Clunky transport.

Upgraded from an older Sony changer. CDPs in general have improved since the purchase of the Sony so I expected the sound to be better as it is. My reference player continues to be my Elite PD-65.

Summary:
I got this CD player with a Denon reciever. This player sounds excellent and has the 20 bit d/a convertor and that good stuff. But, my first one ate a disk and the second one made a weird sound when closing. I asked the guy if he had ever come across this before he said "no" (like he would say yes...). But, i bought the warrenty so they just replaced it. I don't know if it was just flooks or what? It is a great sounding player for cheap! But, the mechanics might be faulty. All this happened within a week of purchase and i've had my current one for 3 weeks and nothing wrong with it yet. it hurts to give it a 3, but with the trouble i've had i just can't justify 4.

my advice, make sure they have a "NO LEMON" policy or get the warranty.
