from Second hand Summary: Bought the Denon DCD-735 second hand (cheap) for use in a smaller system in my home office. Connected it to my main system, and I must say that, this is a VERY GOOD PLAYER! It does not color the sound and the high mid and treble is clear and soft, does give my Musical Fidelity DAC a challenge! This one is a bargain!
The DAC is two Burr-Brown PCM61P 18bit DAC, how they realized the two extra bits and the ALPHA-processing I don’t know. The operational amplifiers in the analog filter and the output is the NEC uPC4570, there are better ones available, but this one is not a bad choice, and obviously good enough! There are two electrolytic capacitors at the output, but it feels that the sound does not suffer from them. Strengths: Very clear dynamic detailed sound without any harshness. The transport is fast and accurate, never fails to find a track! The built-in headphone amplifier drives my headphones loud and clear. Digital output. Weaknesses: Remote control must be used to access all the functionality. Only optical digital output. Similar Products Used: Denon DCD 1290 / Musical Fidelity X-DAC
