Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
To put it simply: if you own an aging Copland 288, buy a new clock for it. I now have Lclock xo3, it totally renewed the sound, which used to be vague and inconsistent.

Strengths:
Build quality, Teac vrds.

Weaknesses:
Original crystal: lots of jitter. Display

Price Paid:  $2600.00 from local dealer

Summary:
I bought this giant of player and I am very satisfied with. CDA 288 offer smooth and open with lot of details highs, extraordinary natural mids and wery deep and tight lows. Soundstage is so wide, deep and high. I prefer Classical, Rock{Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple etc...},Blues and Ambiental music, and in my opinion CDA 288 is made for. My present system is: Primare A 30.1 Copland CDA288 Diapason Adamantes III Monster Cable S 1,5 MIT Terminator 2

Strengths:
Clarity, smoothness,musicality,details,deep bass...

Weaknesses:
No XLR balanced connectors

Similar Products Used:

Review 3 of 3

Summary:
High Tech, no doubt, the CDA 288 uses a Teac CMK-4 transport, PD100 HDCD filter and a unique application for 2 PCM63's per channel - used not dual differential but staggerred - attaining something like a 16 times oversampling.
Its also built - and I mean built.

It s sound - is a wonderfully smooth an coherent one with a big bass. Not the last word in rhythm and timing but very boppy and flowing, a clear midrange and depth like hell.

I'd say 4 stars - 5 to me would be something really mind boggling.

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
